Texture Painting

The objective of this task was to create a texture map in Photoshop using a supplied UV’d template and apply it to the dinosaur model provided.

Painting over this was very difficult, as I had to guess and make sure where all the limbs and body parts were.

This was my final outcome... There is minor mistake around one of the legs, however I felt it best to leave it as I have a boot camped Mac Book Pro, with 3DS Max on the Windows side, and Photoshop on the Mac side... So it was a hassle to keep restarting the computer and switching.

Low Poly Modelling

The aim of this task was to create a low poly model of this gun using 3DS Max.

After about 3 hours, this is my design.

UV Unwrapping

For this task I was unwrap and layout the UV's for this medieval house design using the materials provided.

In order to get the UV textures straight, I had to unwrap the individual parts of the design and lay them out; then i used UV wrapping to get the materials in line with the pieces. This is the laid out map for the sign, which i had to detach from the rest of the building.

Here is my final design.

Classic 3 Point Lighting

For this task I was given a 3D troll design and was to demonstrate classic 3 point lighting.

I actually don't have too much experience doing this, however this was my attempt at it using a 'target spot light' and two 'omni-lights'.

Basic Lighting - Sky Light

For this task I was given an 'already prepared' 3D environment, and I was supposed to demonstrate basic lighting skills by simulating a sunny day within the environment.

I originally used a skylight to simulate this; although the effects were nice, I didn't think the shadows were vibrant enough, so I also used a 'target light' coming from the left to make the shadows more obvious.

There was a strange, smudge-like shadow on the bridge. I tried to get ride of it by changing the angle of the target light, however there was no change. (I'm assuming its a distortion in the 3D design)
